Engine and Airbag lights on
#1

After sitting for the winter, my old battery would no longer take a charge.

I replaced the battery, and the car runs great, but the check engine and airbag lights have come on (not on before). Is it real, or just needing a reset after replacing the battery.

Also, just moved to Ct. near the shore, just North of New Haven (Town of Guilford) and a recommendation for a mechanic would help.

Thanks

There are some conditions where a battery being removed with a door open (light on) will trip the airbag light.

If you take it to a PM, they can read the fault codes and reset the system. If the lights stay off you are good; if they go back on the PM can read the fault code and fix the problem.

Try the blinking light test and see what the computer says is the problem.

In any case there is no way to reset the "!" light on your own.
