Driver's side headlight dragging
#1

I was wondering if the driver's side headlight can be adjusted. When parked on an incline, i noticed that the headlight will not retract. It will try to retract but then stop midway. It seems like the whole light needs to move forward towards the front of the car. Any advice?

It could be alignment or just a hinge that needs to be lubricated. When you push the light home, how does it look in the opening? Centered? The mechanisn is designed to disengage if it meets resistance like a balky hinge or a solid obstruction.

There are multiple ways to adjust. It depends on the alignment problem.

It's dragging on the upmost part of the light. There seems to be wear marks from it falling into place over time. When i turn the lights off, it attempts to return to normal ( i know it is suppose to disengage when met with resistance) and gravity drags it down home. Occasionally, as in yesterday and tonight, it will stop mid-return ( a simple push returns it home). Seems like it needs to move forward, towards the front of the car, at least 1/16". How would i go about adjusting it?

It sounds like the whole headlamp mechanism tray needs to be moved forward a bit. You might want to remove the bumper cover to get the best access to the attachments.

The PDF below has some pictures that show the mounting points.
