Door panels
#1

Has anyone had any luck finding a company to fix door panels? My driver's side is cracked at the top where my elbow rests. Unfortunately, I have a black on top and white on bottom panel and I've never seen one at a dismantler.

any upholstery shop should be able to do it

i think new world sells the panel kits too

i never buy interior stuff at a wrecker - it's always as old as what i am replacing, and has tended to fail the same way as what i am replacing, in a VERY short time

I tried to google "new world and Porsche" and couldn't find any hits. Where is new world located? Do they sell them new, or as a DIY kit? A DIY kit would be my first choice.

You're right about the wreckers. It's just such an unusual color combo that I was going to resort to that.

Thanks,

Phil

Maryland, You have the black/light grey combination? And the upper black is cracked? First off, you're not going to be able to fix that. It is the sun deteriorating the plastic. If it had been protected from day 1 you would still look like new and the black holds up great, usually, but once it starts to go it is too late. You can go new. i priced a new panel for my old car and they cost around $600. Black will be the easiest to find at a wrecker used and you should be able to find a nice one. I wonder if you could find a nice all black panel and then transfer the light grey bottom to it? That would work. i am amazed at how nice the black plastic has held up compared to my old car's classic grey. I guess they just got the mix correct on the black because mine looks like new. IMHO. any upholstery shop should be able to do this, and it should be about $200 in vinyl, and about $250-$300 in leather
