Door lock alarm triggers spontaneously
#1

Pretty simple question: some minutes after locking my '92 coupe's doors, the alarm goes off.  I have no idea how to fix this and no longer have the freedom to lock the car's doors.  I thought I could disable the alarm by pulling a fuse, but that didn't work.  Answers?

Did you try with the other door as well?

I have had this a long time ago, whenever i locked the car from the passenger side the alarm kept going off every now and then.

I didn't do anything about it, so no solutions other then not using that door for locking the car.

Thanks, I will give that a try.  Might add that we enjoyed a very brief visit to the Netherlands at the conclusion of a Viking Rhine River cruise (preceded by four days in Switzerland also with Viking) just two weeks ago, but actually saw little of your country beyond an interesting exploration of one of your original windmills.  I will report back on the door lock issue.

From the passengerside open the door. Push the button from the console to lock the doors. Close the door. The car is locked and the alarm will not be triggered.

I initiated this topic about a door lock alarm that triggered spontaneously.  I quit locking the car but felt I had to remove my garage door opener because the car wasn't  secure.  I have now tested one suggestion, locking the car using the passenger door.  After several days I have not had a reoccurrence of the alarm sounding.  I note that the light that flashes every few seconds in the exposed door lock bit still operates and I can unlock the doors from the driver's side.  This works for me.  Thanks for the suggestions from forum watchers.
