Some people get attached to their automobiles, and personify them with a name.
My 968 is named Athena Joy. Athena, as in the Greek goddess, and the character in Battlestar Galactica. More specifically the character played by Maren Jensen, but Grace Park's character is also a hottie.
Joy, as in Joy to drive, obviously.
I think it would be interesting to know if other people have names for their 968s, and the background behind those names.

No Name for my 968 as of now...
Per the Male vs. female discussion
Male:
Chuck (as in Norris) or Arnold (Terminator)
Female:
Ann (Boleyn) or Marilyn (Monroe) since the 968 is my Mistress.

I also like the colour idea. My white coupe is the "white car" and my blue cab is the "blue car". Makes it easy to remember, especially for us old guys. But the white car could easily be called "moneypit". No explanation needed.

never been compelled to name a car, but my other ride is frequently referred to as "big ass truck" since its a chevy silverado with 6 inch lift on 35's. does that constitute a gender bias?

Yes, POS!!!! when it misbehaves, as it has this week by disengaging the passenger side door lock from the automatic locking system but not the alarm system.

Yes although it is obviously ill named. My wife refers to our 968 as the Super Coupe. Like in "are you taking the "Super Coupe"? The standard answer is "if the battery isn't dead"

Claudia II
Claudia was my first Porsche a red 1987 944 w/ 67Kmiles at the time. She had never been named, to my knowledge. A friend of ours from Munich once rode through Center City Philadelphia in the back seat of that car, if you can call it a back seat. After that sacrifice, we felt it and all only appropriate that we name the car in her honor. When my current Porsche came along, I made a deal with Claudia that I would always use her name. Otherwise, there might have been words between the two...
Caveat: I admit to using other names for her when she does not behave herself, but I can not repeat them here in this proper forum.
