DME Gremlins Strike Again
#1

Ok, for the sake of all, I will make this short. Spent the day with my GF at Heast Castle and wine tasting in the Edna Valley. Noticed hesitation/fuel starvation on rough stretches of road particularly in 6th gear. Hesitation also occurred when changing lanes and hitting the reflectors. Just as we finished wine tasting at our last winery, the car died at a stop sign. After ten minutes, it restarted.

Approximately 20 minutes later, total and complete failure occurred at 65 mph on the freeway just outside Santa Maria. Luckily I was able to get off the highway without incident. Having owned two 968s I could remember if I had my extra DME in the blue coupe or if it was in the red cab I sold. I checked the glove compartment and nothing. Thanks to Flash for info on jumping the DME with paper clips but I couldn't get it to work.

Towed home 70 miles and can't find the DME I bought long ago. I must have left it in the red cab when I sold it. Which DME do I get? There seem to be a lot out there although I'm sure some are made by the same manufacturers. Here is a short list that pops up on EBay. Any ideas?

Thanks in advance,

Jarrod

lol - i understand the frustration and resultant laziness about curing the problem, but search is your friend if you use "more search options" - there was even a thread about this a couple of days ago - please search first

a quick search of "DME relay" in titles only pulled this at the top of the list:
