How do you smooth it around the corners without creating a crease?  My local cabinet maker obviously had Porsche dollars rolling in his eyes and wanted 230Euros before tax for a wooden cap so I've ordered a plastic moulded version and shall cover it somehow.  I thought leatherette, but moulding around the corners will be a challenge.  I've seen some "shower hat" fittings but I don't trust them to be a good fit and expect they will soon become sloppy.

Your thoughts?

Yes it replaces the the old lid and screws directly on to the tray/hing. I've had mine for over 10 years now and have had no problems with it and i provides a little more space for storage...

I thought this looked good. So I bought one. It arrived and let me say it's horrible. The "Leather" if one wants to call it that (I wouldn't) is already cracking on the edges and it's cheap low grade stuff. It also feels like it's made from balsa wood. For nearly $125 and something someone was making for a higher end marque, I figured it would be better.

 

I am trying to get a refund now. There is a reason he doesn't accept returns. I should have just take it to my upholstery guy who did consoles for my last two vehicles but I thought the extra height would be nice.

 

Again, do not buy from this guy. Not a good product. Even the cardboard it was shipped in is about a third as durable as what amazon uses.

The seller complained about the expense of shipping the item back to Thailand and only offered a $50 refund. Not good enough.

I have asked eBay to step in. Hopefully I will get my cash back. If the guy had put up more than the one photo, I could have had a better idea of what I was getting.

When I sell on eBay, if there is an issue, I handle it. Fast. Full refund and don't mess around. In nearly 20 years of being on the site I have never left negative feedback.

This may be the first.

I think ebay finally got on him because he agreed to take the cover back. Weird because the return address is the


Thailand Board of investment in N.Y., NY.
As long as I get my cash back, I am happy. There shouldn't have been any question or wait when I sent him the photos.

Thankful to get my refund, but it didn't have to take this long.
