Ive been going back and forth on doing a Turbo or Supercharger. Love the idea of having replica 968 Turbo but after doing the math and time etc I just cant beat the value and instant gratification from the Supercharger option. It comes down to bolt on and drive or money pit, time/custom/tune/drive/tune.

Guess I better get some cash together.

lol - that's pretty much my feeling too, and exactly why i designed it the way i did. i figured most people feel the way we do. we want more, but not all the fuss, cost, time, cost, hassle, cost, reliability issues, and of course, cost

gbarrier - glad you could get the miles in - be careful in the rain

HI Guys,

I had just installed my supercharger and I filled with oil but just does seem correct, after reading instructions it says there should only be a about an inch of oil left in the bottle. I have a little bit more than 1/2 a bottle left over.

I followed instructions carefully and got the oil to come out of the return side of SC but I dont think the cooler is full. I am afrad to start the car and destroy the SC, although the instructions tell to start the car.

Should I start the car with the cap off the resevoir and fill as the level falls?I am afraid the SC is going to draw all the oil into the cooler and run dry.

Just to confirm the oil lines, I went from the bottom of the resevoir to inlet of SC, out of the SC to the cooler and out of the cooler to the top of the resevoir.

I feel everything is correct but I cant figure out why its not taking all the oil and it shows full in the resevoir

You can pull the coil wire or DME fuse and crank the engine over without starting it. That will get all the oil moving around.

HI,

Thanks for reply however I have been cranking the engine with plugs,DME coil etc disconnected as instructed but its not sucking up all the oil? I also tried to remove the bolt on the top of resevoir and blowing air in there and thats not working either.

I got the oil to come out of the return side (out on the SC) but I know the oil cooler is not full yet. Im thinking it only pumps a small amount of oil which is why Flash instructs to start the car and keep checking the resevoir. I just want to confirm this before destroying SC.

Thanks

While cranking it over does oil come out of the return side of the oil cooler? I would put that line on the top of the reservoir into the oil bottle and see if it comes out.

Had me a little worried for a sec and I was going to say STOP and call you ASAP. Remember we only got 1/2 a bottle in and we did have a problem after the test run <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/sad.png" class="smilie" alt="" />

yours made a racket from the get go. i hoped it would quite down after the first run, but no go. thankfully i had another one on the bench.

this one is pretty normal. it will only cycle so much fluid before you have to put the hose on, fire it up, and add it as you go for a minute or so.

i figure he's out on the road with it right now, and will be back shortly.

At the risk of hijacking the thread, Flash, I was wondering if you ever figured out what the aluminum disc was that went thru my S/C and ended up in the throttle body. While I had allowed the fan blade to gnaw away at the oil line and we all assumed that was the cause of the failure there was still some oil in the reservoir when I got the car stopped after the lock up. That disc has always bothered me.

me too, but i sure can't figure out where it came from. it doesn't fit anything from the kit, and i can't even think of where in the car it would have come from.

very weird indeed.

HI Guys,

Thanks for the replies, Spoke with Flash and he set me straight. I had everything correct and as he said once you start it you have to add fluid while it idles untill there is about an inch or so of fluid left. I was in panic mode when it only took a half bottle and did not want to start it and run it dry.

Got to drive it about 30 miles and it feels fantastic, however I am gettin a stumble between gears. Flash was nice enough to call me and check on my progress and he gave me a list of things to check. I am going to start checking all the things he mentioned and follow up . I checked my vacume and that is OK, next I am going to connect to Durametric software and see if I am getting any codes.

The SC is very impressive and hats off to Flash not only for the beautiful job in creating it but his customer service is great. Its like each one of theese SC are his little babies LOL.

I cant wait until I can unleash the power!!!!

I will post a couple of pics

Thanks again everybody
