If have been searching through all of the forums and cant find what I am looking for. I would like to know if the 944 windsheild would fit the 968 (Both Coupe). I did find this http://www.968forums.com/index.php?showtop...p;hl=windshield which was helpful for the 968 part numbers.

I know about the differnences with or without embedded anntenne.

I thought I had read somewhre the there may be a difference in thickness.



Prices qouted for installed glass were $375 for the 944 and $765 for the 968 (Safelite)



968 glass has to be ordered, which is the case no matter who I buy from. Called my friend at the porsche dealer, and I can get sekruit ws for $500 + $100 to install.

if no one responds here you might want to ask over on the 944/968 forum on rennlist.(or do a search) I've heard this discussed over there before but I don't remember the answer.

The early 944 windshield will not work for sure. You should talk to George B at 944 ecology to see if a late windshield will fit.



The cost difference is typically because the late 944s had a frame around the windshield which added to the cost of the part. Some 944s had an antenna in it as well, and these are REALLY pricey.



Do not order the early 944 windshield.

Part numbers I had quoted in the other post were from the 968 section of PET. I didn't cross ref when I needed to replace the 944 windshield, but ALL windshields start with "944", so yes, they should fit fine. The early 944 is a different part altogether.
