Cooling problem finally fixed...
#1

Replaced the Thermostat Wednesday night - all day Thursday driving around in 100+ temps, the gauge never went above half way between the upper white mark and the lower white mark. According to my P-car shop, that's where it's supposed to be! Oh, and it also warms up quicker!

Thanks for all your advice and prayers!

Glad to hear it!

When my thermostat failed the engine was very slow to warm up in the winter. Sometimes it would not get to operating temp. After changing the thermostat operating temp was achieved within the first three miles no matter how cold it was.

So I'm thinking that mine was stuck partially open - caused it to be slow to warm up, and then not efficient when warmed up!
