What tires work well for both DE and autoX - warm-up quickly and maintain grip on track?
Racing slicks are best, but they are not in my plan (and my budget) as I drive to the track and have no spare storage space. I run 1989 944 Turbo with 16" rims at Lime Rock and Pocono Raceway.
I love Kumho Victoracers V700 for autoX as they warm up quickly and stick like glue. However, I started doing DE and V700s got all mushy and lost grip after just two track days. I kept an eye on tire pressure, so it seems that the tires just don't like the heat cycles of track sessions.
What tires do you guys use for DE, besides Hoosiers? Do they warm up quickly enough for autocross use?
