Color Coded Wheels
#1

Hi Guys,

like I said some time ago I wanted to go for color coded wheels same as you could order them from the factory. This option was standard on the CS but very rare on coupes and convertibles.

Had the car now for 10 years and needed a change. Went for93 Cup (Cup 2) and was actually surprised that they were way more than 1kg lighter than the C2 Turbo (C2 Turbo (Cup 1)).

Have a look yourself:

It is a rare option on North American 968s. Of the 4,242 coupes and cabs produced only 10 had the optional painted wheels (code XD9) and most of them were white. For the North American XD9 option the outer rim was left silver with only the center being body colored. No full colored wheels here in NA.

Yeah, @Jeff, even here in central Europe hardly anybody went for the colored rims. We have 70 968s in our Club but as far as I remember beside the CS no one has the original color code option. Definetely no green !!! <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/biggrin.png" class="smilie" alt="" />
