Light Conversion
#1

Has anyone converted to HID lights? Some companies like http://www.mobilehid.com/4300k.htm say they offer conversion kits for any car.

see, i got in trouble for asking this question a few months ago...APPARENTLY....there are tons of posts about this.....

There was much discussion on the light source and focusing of the lenses and the SID..etc...But for 200$..might be cool for you to take one for the team and do some testing????

I was looking at this set:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/_Car-Truck-...p3756.m20.l1116

seemed a little better package...but all look like they are made in El CHine...easy install.

I would choose the white light or minimally blue variety...less likely to get pulled over and overall a better light for the road

I couldn't find any post. Surely, someone has made the conversion that drives a 968. I support you 100% to take one for the team. <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/biggrin.gif" class="smilie" alt="" />

I do not know much about lighting and lumens, but that looks like a good kit.

I know that Saxman has more than the usual amount of lighting knowledge and had written something about HID conversions. It might have been in the thread about an approach to modifying headlights to a fixed system. A search (which I have not done) should find that.

Or, maybe someone will remember more specifically where it was.

THANKS, LC!

my wife was already on me after adding up the 'secret' account bills for the Porsche....

maybe I will....but then again, I just bought a set of headlight hella lamps for 12$......might have to burn through these for a while...

PLUS..you want to make sure you get the kit with low and HIGH beams...many only offer low beams and don;t mention it.
