clear film cover
#1

Bob, do you have an ETA on the clear film kit for the 968? You are using the 3M material, correct? When can I place an order? Thanks for doing this!

Yo Flash Bulb - where is this film being designed to fit? Nose or wheel arch stone guards - or both?

I have a local guy who told me he could scan my factory replacement stone guards (color matched to the car) in his computer and cut out clear 3M duplicates to fit behind my front wheels. That was months ago. I'm still waiting...............

My old ones are presently removed and I want something on there before the Savannah trip. Factory Polar Silver guards not a great color match to car.

I thought all of them were clear, and that painted ones were a sign of a (perhaps hasty) re-paint.

the kit will be as most kits are - about a foot up the hood and straight across the fender and down - also, mirrors and wheel arches

94SilverCab and tamathumper - my OEs were clear but I didn't realize that until I removed them. For certain color cars Porsche offers the wheel arch guards color matched to the car and Polar Silver is one of those colors. I ordered the color matched ones (before removing the originals) assuming that's what my car came with OE. They originals turned out clear and the color matched guards don't match well at all. I intend to have some 3M cut using the color matched ones as templates. Just have to find someone who has a scanner and computer operated cutter to accomplish this. Anyone have any ideas or know of anyone close to Charleston SC?

My CNC machine can cut vinyl, and probably would cut the 3M film just fine. I would need the measurements and, let's see, some 3M film! [Image: wink.gif]

yeah - i figure this one is going to be pretty popular - i should have all the info for everybody extremely soon - i'm scrambling around running an awful lot of errands this weekend and tomorrow, which is taking me away from my projects, but i am here all day tuesday and can absolutely finish up test fitting the paper patterns and all that - then it's just run one and verify fitment and then go for the production run

I have plenty of time to wait. Probably won't do this until the car gets a total repaint in about 3-4 years. My plan is to restore the top, body, and interior in one shot. Probably need to save up about $50 - $100 per week to make this happen.
