clear film cover
#41

Hi guys.

I live in the bush here in AUS and you can't drive more than 5 miles without wearing a selection of the native wildlife, and the roads are so bad the front of my daily driver looks like somebody has been firing rat-shot at it from about 10 feet away.  So a few months ago I had a company called OZISHIELD do a full frontal, wheel arches and sills job on my '93 Cabrio, [red of course].  The guy who runs the company, and did the job, told me that the film was developed by a guy in the US a few years back, and that it was so superior to the product 3M were making at the time that they paid him a squillion and bought him out, lock, stock and patents.  See the url below for a laymans description of the film.

Anyway I'm very happy with the job, and I'm sure it has already paid for itself.  Yes, you can see the edges of the film on the horizontal surfaces of the fenders and hood if you're looking for it, but with a few applications of Dodo wax and their "Red Mist" sealant the finish is great. I hope this is of interest to you.

Judge, very interesting. Can you post any photos of your car? How much did the kit cost?

Bob, any developments on your end?

Thanks

Jeff

How about an ETA? I know you had hoped for July 1st 2011 but I know you want it to be right. I would hate to jump at something now when a better solution is around the corner.

Thanks

Having watched Flash and the installer spend 3 hours tinkering and pulling and stretching a wrongly constructed prototype, the end result despite the orange peel gave me the confidence to wait for the finished version!

yeah. i was pretty bummed that it didn't work out, and that it meant starting completely over from scratch. i just haven't had the time lately, between house projects, finishing up things on my car, and dealing with the puppy.

as soon as i get back onto this project, and have any idea what will happen, i'll let everyone know.

Great,

I think your market for this kit will be great as a even more 968ers want to keep their front end paint in nice condition then want Supercharger kits. Thanks for your efforts.

i doubt the interest will be that great. most people would just repaint the car. may do not like the look of a clear bra. i'm on the fence, but i'm lazy, so i'll do it.

whenever i get back to this project, i'll update everyone.
