child seats in a 944
#1

hello all, I know this is a 968 site but was wondering if anyone has any knowledge of putting child seats in the back seat of a 944 cabriolet. It looks like the seats are too small to properly fit a car seat back there, just wondering if anyone has any real world experience with this. Thanks,

p.s. as long as I am asking about 944s, I know the 968 has no back seat but has anyone figured out a way to put a baby/small child safely in a 968?

The 968s do have back seats, at least they look like back seats. The best place for kids is on a roof rack.

Just Kidding.

Roof rack? Cosimo, you are so insensitive! The best place for kids is in the trunk. Period.

Some members have been able to force fit a few odd models of safety seats in the back, but technically it probably doesn't meet any official regulations. Also, when installed it really limits the allowed space for the front seat passenger.

IMO a rear facing baby seat would definitely not work, and even a front facing seat would be very tight and not fit well. I think the choices really open up when you get to a booster seat as they are much smaller with much more versatile options.

I'm about to put a booster in my back seat and install some tether anchors where the seat belts would be.

I tried the trunk but I could still them screaming, yelling and getting crumbs all over. At least on the roof , the sounds are muted and the crumbs fly away. Give them some goggles, we wouldn't anything to get in their precious little eyes.
