Check to see if your oil level light is burned out.  The pressure may be good but the sender may be indicating as little as 0.25 L low.  This will turn on the big light and it will go off once the oil warms up a bit and expands enough to stop the sender from giving a signal.  If the oil level light was burned out it would be the only signal that you would get.

I have noticed that after it sits, the turning signals don't want to work until I drive it a bit and try to use them several times....

Yes, as the guy who works on mine always says, there’s nothing worse for them as sitting. He told me he has a customer with a 95 coupe with 200,000 on it and it’s never needed anything but belts, brakes, and an alternator.

use the things, the indicators are dried out grease sticking the switch, cos they dont get used
