Where to find power steering oil cooler?
#1

Noticed the other day that the one line from the power steering fill tank goes directly to the power steering rack and does not go to an oil cooler like it should. I've looked in the cavity as best as I can where this line runs, and don't see the cooler coil.

I searched on this site and didn't find any info or pics. Do I need to take off the inner fender liner to see the cooler lines, or is it missing on my car?

Passenger side above oil cooler-look for rectangular coils mounted horizontally

Thanks. I need to replace the oil cooler duct, so when I do that I should be able to see it if it is in there.

Looks like a past owner removed the power steering oil cooler. I see three studs that hang down above the engine oil cooler. A assume this is where the PS oil cooler mounts.

If anyone on the forum is parting out a car, or has an extra oil cooler for the power steering unit, I'm looking for one.

MB968, try the breakers.

Along the same topic... I just discovered that the hose from sis ripped and leaking PS fluid....thought I was smart

and sliced the hose but now can't get the hose back on the resouvoir nipple.

Had to remove the belt so I can at least drive the car. Anyone have suggestions?

Older hoses can loose the plasticity they once had making it hard to get them back on if the end has been cut off. Try putting the end in some boiling water to soften it enough to get it on.
