Borbet C2T Replica Wheels/Tires
#1

I couldn't pass up a good price on a set of these 17" wheels with almost new Potenza 750's in almost the correct sizes -- fronts are 235. I understand that these wheels are MUCH heavier than my 16" cups but will be curious to see if they improve cornering on my stock suspension (about to put new Bilsteins on rear and M030 bars front and rear). I wouldn't be surprised if they totally "upset" the great road feel my car has now. But I could be wrong and find the little bit I lose in acceleration is made up by the bigger lower profile, wider tires. I live in an area of PA where corners are only followed by more corners.

Just thought some of you on the forum may have some real world experience with these or recommendations on how to best set them up for use on the 968. Perhaps the best advice is to move the tires onto some real porsche rims and lose the replicas?

Thanks for anything you can share!

width? offset?

my mille miglia replicas felt great, extra weight and all - yours should too - my rears were 54.5# tire and wheel

i love the 750s on the bmw - not sure i'd pick them for the 968, purely because i would want the most traction possible, but they are a great high mileage overall tire, that are no slouch in performance - excellent wet traction too, which was a concern, because she drives that car the most - i'd get them again in a second for the bmw

Widths are 7.5 and 9". Not sure on the offsets? Weights are 26 & 30# for just the wheels. I think a rear tire is 27# so that is 57# each at the rear.

Will the 235 width be a problem on the front if the offset is okay?
