Could someone PM me the info about the rebuild kit? Mine works, but the bulb is burned out so it's not visible at night.

Just replace the bulb, ?
It's the push in and twist type in its own holder
And yes the outside air temp
I phoned 20th street breakers in the USA, they had 10 968's in stock breaking but not one clock

open Passenger door
1 you need to remove the passenger side dash end plate
2 then the one screw in the long dash strip at the end
3 remove the little oblong filler piece out of the dash, next to the air vent
4 remove the two screws from there
5 remove the round rosette from next to the clock/temp display (use a pair of long nose pliers just the tips in the longest slot and twist)
6 remove the one screw from there
7 remove the four knobs from the heater controls
8 remove the face plate from the heater control
9 remove the four screws from there
10 pull the heater controls forward a bit
11 you should now be able to get the long trim to move and take off
be very careful with the hazzard switch the lugs are very fagile, the rest should be very obvious
replace is the reverse of removal but remember the little hose for the air sensor.

This has been bugging me for a while.
1) Bulb has been replaced, that is not the problem
2) Temp. display works fine when fog/headlights are turned off
3) whenever I turn on fogs (position 1), or headlights (position 2), temp display goes dark.
4) when light are turned off, temp display has reset from Farenheit to Celcius.
I though t I fixed this once with a fuse...can't find one burned out.
Thoughts?

A worn ignition switch causes all sorts of odd electrical anomalies
A new one is about $100 and a diy job

I did mine in about an hour and a half. Make sure you get the right part, with the right connector, and the job is pretty simple.
I have a post in here somewhere about my heater doing random things at random times. I determined it was the switch, and changing it out solved all the strangeness that the heater (and other components) were experiencing. Replace the slotted cap screws with allen heads and tightening the switch will be a whole lot easier.
Call Sunset, they knew the proper part. My local Porsche dealer wanted to sell me the "replacement" switch, which was 1) totally wrong; and 2) a lot more expensive.
