Thanks,

Tom

a little rough around the edges, but not too bad - i like that they took the time to put up pics of the details, like they weren't hiding anything

price is pretty good

recent timing belt - nice

it's a tip, so make sure you want that

I don't know the car...and you've probably have picked up many of the "things to look for" on this site. I'll simply comment that it looks very much the way mine did when I purchased it 7 years ago...same colors, very similar mileage (to which I've added about 100k), and what looks to be similar condition. Big difference, though - I paid twice the price being asked for this one. Too bad it's not closer to me, I'd look at it for you.

Like Flash says, nice looking car. A little rough around the edges, but it the kind of car I prefer. I would go out of my mind if I didn't have little projects to work on. If this is the configuration you like, get a PPI and buy it. This is a good price.

Thanks, that's pretty much what I thought, of course the PPI will tell the tale.

it will if you take it to somebody who knows the 968 - if you just go to a dealership, or some shop that doesn't really know the car, they will likely miss all the things that only a 968 specialist would know

The black and tan combo is my favorite for the 968 and also from the tap. Classic.

I believe this car has been up on ebay prior, but never met it's reserve. If your looking for an auto trans, this may be a great deal. The only things I noticed through the pics were:
1) looks to be some minor damage to the front bumper cover/lower grill
2) From pic of rear of the car, looks to be some tubing/wiring hanging near rear differential
3) wipers looks stuck in higher position (maybe nothing though)
4) On title report, looks to be some mileage 'corrections' noted. (again, maybe nothing).

Overall looks pretty decent. If you can get it for between 8 and 10 I think it might be a great deal assuming the PPI doesnt show anything major.

Good luck.

Indeed - it has been at Ebay before

If it lookslike something you want - get some independend knowledgable person to look at it .. I wouldn't just buy it from Ebay like this ...

... I'm also wondering why it's still (or again) for sale

some cars are like that - not everybody falls in love with the 968 - by comparison to new cars, it's soft, slow, and not well appointed - maintenance can be daunting too - many would just prefer to drive a new 325 and be done with it

but those of us who have fallen in love with it, would not change easily

Oz, last time the car was on ebay....reserve was likely not met and the owner was unwilling to sell to the highest bidder. I've seen many cars go up on ebay more then once because of that very reason. In fact, my '95 was up on ebay twice before i bought it. The PO also put up an ad. on autotrader for it.

This car is now with a dealer. Note the "e-carsdirect is an auto merchant located in beautiful Westmont..." in the ad. Salt salt salt. Check for corrosion. My fav colors too

I was watching this car on eBay too. Nice looking, but not pristine. I'm kinda' wondering about the accuracy of the mileage also. It would be awesome if it really does have just 65,000 miles though. No big deal if it's been properly maintained.

On Dec 20th the reserve was not met at a high bid of $9,099 (Buy It Now of $12,900). It had 7 bidders, and the auction ran for 7 days. Starting price was $5,000. A quick look at the current auction appears to be a re-run of the previous, nothing changed.

So it sounds like the owner is ready to move this car & be rid of it. Good opportunity for someone to make a pretty good deal on a decent looking car. Good luck!
