Guards Red Cab on eBay...
#1

There is a pretty decent 6 spd Guards Red Cab on eBay, located in St. Louis, MO. 38K original miles IIRC.

Recently came out of Rochester IN, where it had been owned by and non Porsche type, who bought it off a used car lot faily early in it's life... long story about how the original owner traded it and some other foreign car in at a local Big Three dealer for a Cadillac, and the 968 was sold off to the private used car lot...

In any case, it needed a complete timing belt service... hadn't been touched since it left Stuttgart, and had about 36k miles on it!!! Talk about pushing your luck... of course, the PO was clueless as to why it should ever need a timing belt (see other thread on that subject)... Other than that it needed some TLC, but was definitely a keeper...

The current owner buys and sells Porsches, and he says he has done the belts and some of the TLC stuff... it looks nice in the photos, but it looked okay before!

No affiliation, but if you are lusting for a Red 968 Cab, this is probably one of the last few with honest to goodness low miles... be nice if it went to a good home here in the Forum!

Car sold.

The seller is a close friend of mine. The cab is exactly as described. I was thinking about buying the car for my pop (it's that nice!!!!).

However, the cab sold this morning for the "buy it now" price.

A very nice example.

Well, there you go!

I coulda, woulda, shoulda, but didn't feel like doing another front end job, so Dennis got it instead... And yes, it is a sweetie!

Since he sold it for Buy It Now, he did very well on that car, less the cost of the belts etc....

Amazing how these Porsches get lost in peoples garages that have absolutely no idea what they bought, and then just sit there for years!
