AC Hose Collapse High Side?
#1

Help!

Have my '92 968 at the shop now and am trying to get the A/C system up and running. Compressor replaced - yes. Expansion Valve replace - yes. Dryer replaced - yes. 143a conversion - yes. System was flushed and refrigerant cycles through the whole system according to the mechanic. When he hooks it all up and gets it going though, there is no pressure coming in on the high side. He THINKS it is the hose collapsing that is on the high side coming in to the compressor. Is this possible?...Likely? He said when he was cycling oil through the compressor manually it was shooting it out as it would if the compressor is good. It is going to to be a difficult and expensive task to get the hose off and see if a fitting can be made to work for this short rubber section - if this is even the actual problem. I don't want to keep trying stuff and trying stuff. Anyone have any ideas??

Guessing you got a bad rebuilt compresor. It doesn't take much to pump oil thru it by hand, but for it to make good compression is another thing.

Not sure how to confirm that. When I ran into that issue on a 944, I had another compressor to swap in from a parts car. Do you have contact details for the rebuilder? Maybe run the issue past them.
