Well.. I feel sad for Flash and Dan with their belts and wish you all the best, I hope I got a bit luckier.
After repairing the broken radiator drain plug a couple of weeks ago, about 2 days later I drove in the garage and saw one more puddle. Was hard to isolate without getting under, since there were tiny water doplets flying around the belt area. Here is the pic.
For some reason the radiator hose didn't hold it's shape, and is bowed out in contact with the pulley on the power steering pump. A couple weeks ago I did remove the bottom end of the hose from the radiator, so evidence suggests I somehow caused it. But I confirmed that the hose is on all the way on the radiator. Maybe it is old and just lost it's shape. There also seems to be some type of soft plastic cover, our outer casing that is on this hose. Maybe that is intended to force the hose to hold its shape, and perhaps it slipped during my prior work, or how knows, maybe it is all just a coincidence.
Anyway, suggestions desired and welcome. Looks like I can do this by removing the airbox up top, and that this will give me enough access at the top end to get the clamp off and remove / reinstall a new one. And the batwing once again . I really don't want to remove much more. Oh goody, another call to Sunset. Anybody been through the R&R of this hose have guidance or suggestions? Thanks!
