Abs problem - anonther one.
#1

Hi all,

Found lots of abs-problem topics but couldnt find my problem. I have the abs light in my dash immediately after start. I measured all 4 abs sensors and they are fine. The only problem I found is that there isnt any power towards the abs sensor rear right. Checked all the cables and connectors and everything looks good. So can this be a relais problem? Or any other ideas?

Thanks!

There is no power to any of the ABS sensors, they are Hall effect so generate voltage pulses for the ECU to read and calculate

If you unplug the sensor and put voltmeter on 2v AC and put a probe in each hole of the connector, spin the hub as fast as you can, you should see about .2 to .5 of a volt

No voltage then check the resistance through the sensor, about 900ohms

The ECU may well send a check to the sensors at power up, and you have one open circuit. Thats why the light comes on

Thanks!

So must have an open circuit. But this problem started after the battery was disconnected for weeks. So can it still be a relais problem?

No...can this be part of the problem?

Yes. Because the odo gets his signal from the abs.

I think your abs relay is shot.

Jumper it and see if your problem has been solved.

Ok, thanks.

To be sure, does the odo meter get the signal from the abs sensor rear right?

Front left hand side, looking from the rear of the car

The signal goes through the frequency multiplier in the fuse box then to the motor in the speedo head
