A light went on then off!

I've just understood today Bob's problem in not driving that much and always messing about ( very ably I might add) doing this, trying that. I have a list as long as your arm for things I would like to do, and the fustration of it all just came to the surface a little while ago. You become obsessed with all things 968! Sometimes I blow hot and cold with it, but now its taking over again! In a recent thread Bob said he tried uni-ball strut top mounts for about 15 mins then whipped them out again because they were naff for road use. That can wear you down. I think we should all install a wine dispenser in our cars to keep us chilled out. Hic.

What wears me down is when I go to fix or upgrade something, and another problem pops up caused by what I just did! Example: I recently 'upgraded' to delrin sway bar bushings, now I've got a nasty clunk from the bar that I can't seem to get rid of. Like the song says - one thing leads to another...

Amen. I've seen many P-car owners (myself included) get into a car with great energy, only to be worn down by the "to-do" list of desired and necessary items that never seems to allow for unfettered enjoyment of the car. My 924 and 944S got the better of me, but so far I'm still on the positive side with the 968

My car has been in the shop since Monday for a tech check for a DE at Pocono this weekend. I have had this positively annoying rattle atI the back right rear seat area for some time. Could not figure out what it is or where it is coming from. The service guy tells me they can hear it but can't find it yet. Wondering if I'm getting dicked around. He tells me it's now bothering everyone that they can't find it and it's a matter of principle to find it. I wonder if principle means padding the bill? So mistrustful of folks! This meanwhile after I just got an order of goodies from Flash. Patience is a virtue. Who is the commie that said that?

rattles are a drag, and they are often things people don't think about. the rear glass really moves sound around. you would not believe the number of times i've had somebody complain of a rattle they thought was in the suspension, only to find out it was the seat back hinge.

Flash is right again! Rattles often come from the place you least expect, sound don't always come from where they seem to. Just the other day my ear's picked up some word's and quite legitamitely though they were coming from my mouth. How wrong could they be, it seem's I was talking out of my arse as usual!

tama - exactly! I hate to sound like a complainer, but I've owned my car for a bit over two years now, lovingly and enthusiasticly put over ten grand (I'm aftraid to actually total it all up) into repairs and upgrades, and I'm STILL fighting problems that have prevented the car from handling correctly, and me from enjoying driving it this whole time.

Just one frustrating example:

After replacing the entire steering system trying to fix a 'too heavy steering feel' issue, the problem actually turned out to be bad alignment, so not only was all that unnecessary, but now the used steering shaft I had to source - because the original one was creaking and new ones are NLA - has developed some play, so my steering feels loose and the car is STILL not fun to drive! I don't know how much more I - or my wallet - can take. Is it ok to cuss on this forum?

Glad that amuses you Flash. Bombfactory, it can be real nippy sweeties when things don't work out, especially when spending a king's ransom doing so. I propose a new forum section entitled "before you do this .. look at that!" Really, although there is tons of information here it can be a pain to get to the nitty gritty especially for computer twats like me. I think we need a tree structure to lead us down specified paths to Nirvana? Doesn't exist, not with 968's anyway. Just keep putting the foot down!

I hope you don't have a badly worn lower arm ball joint issue, Flash will probably sus it out, he usually does.

And, how many times do you wish somebody else had a 968 close by that you could go ride in or drive to compare? The rarity is at once a blessing and a curse.

No, Rap. "Flowery Twits" isn't an anagram for anything, is it AJG?

Stewart who is a member and is one of two that I knew live close by is coming over to see what is missing on his car which prevents his new splitter from being attached. We have already compared cars and their different.

Twat is a multi-use word. Some meanings not as bad as others.

I've checked and the closest thing in my vocab is "Farty Towels"
