If you sold your 968, what would replace it with?

same amount of power, fun to drive, great nois at 9 000 RPMs, nice to look at.

Hmmm... front-wheel drive Undecided
Nope.  You have to wind that car up pretty much all the way to 8000 rpm to get to that listed peak power and 7000 rpm for torque ( not to mention the torque is pathetically low compared to 968s impressive amount )  so the 968 will absolutely annihilate the Honda coming out of a turn and accelerating..where all the fun driving happens .  Also going into the turn .  I know this from exchanging cars for a few drives on a canyon road , with my friend who had a new S 2000 way back when and taking turns on testing the cars’ respective driving prowess .   But I must admit , the steering wheel feel  of the S2000 is my favorite of any car I have driven ( and I’m including Ferraris in that list ) - you get that go-kart slight “resistance” and full control sensation, even though it’s a full power steering system.

S2000 is rear wheel drive, they are good fun but you feel like your thrashing it all the time,

If your replacing a cab it could be an option, but no tin roof version

I recently purchased a nice 2001 Boxster S for my wife, with all the usual things fixed and some nice mods/improvements installed.  I must say, that this is a fantastically fun car to drive as well.  Very different to the 968, but every bit as enjoyable.  Better still, my wife is very happy with this addition to our garage.

Well, I have often thought whether I would be willing to sell the 968 to get one of my other bucket list cars.  But yesterday I took it to an event with other Porsches, Jags, Corvettes, etc and I was amazed at the level of attention it received and questions I was asked.  The accolades came from Jag owners and 911 owners alike.  After a day like that, I just don't think I'd be willing to part with it.

Went and looked at a 2013 Boss 302 today.

I "should" sell something if I bought - but prolly won't. I don't think he'll come down enough anyway.

The first generation Boss 302 had one of the greatest exhaust notes ( definitely in the top 10 of all time , to my ears anyway ..) , no idea how 2013 sounds like, but I imagine they’d stick with tradition to some extent ..

Sooooo, it sounded pretty good.

But, the GF and I went and looked at an X3 M40i and ...damn, the exhaust note on that car is just sweet.

But that’s an SUV ...we’re focused on what a COMPARABLE replacement for a 968 would be .. a. “sporty” GT coupe or cab, with the looks, balance, and similar attributes the 968, within the same budget .
