968 mechanic in CT.
#1

Any one know a good mechanic in CT.

Possibly within 25 miles of Hartford.

But anywhere in CT is good enough.

Thanks,

Anthony

There are a couple people from CT on here, I'm originally from there. According to your local PCA region, Musante is one of there sponsors, they are in South Windsor, might want to check them out. http://www.musantemotorsports.com/

Bear in mind the local PCA sponsors here are two or three places I would never take my car, so local references are priceless.

I"m sure others will chime in. I am very happy with Fairfield County Motorsports ( a bit far from harford, i live in wallingford). I have heard good things about Musante, i just don't remember from where.

Fairfield County Motorsport in Fairfield fixed my coolant leaks, did the timing belt, cam belts, waterpump. They are good but expensive (over $200 for an oil change). They had a 944 race car so they know 968's.

Dan Jacobs at Hairy Dog Garage is a 911 guru, but he could probably do what you need too. He's a great guy and sick driver also.

It is NOT over 200 for an oil change.

Are you saying it is not over $200 for an oil change at that shop, or that it should not be over $200 for an oil change generally speaking?

I am directly refuting, "They are good but expensive (over $200 for an oil change)." That is all i am going to say.

I'm looking at my bill from 9/14/11

$100 for labor oil change

Parts Motor oil = $101.85 Redline 15/50 oil 7 quarts

Filter 9.54

seal 73 cents

total = $212.12

I can bring the parts to a foriegn car guy and he charges $20-$30 for oil change labor. I'd do it myself but I don't like getting rid of the waste oil.

Just a tip for the future - Autozone disposes of used oil for free at almost every one of their locations.

Also, Redline 10w40 or 15w50 is $10.95 per quart on Amazon.com (with free shipping)
