Anyone with a simple DIY on attaching the snaps? Just got my cab... ("The boot's in the trunk") and the damned thing has no holes and no instructions. I figured out the back flap must go under the trunk lid, and there's some velcro in the front (but haven't located it yet)... but I had a bag full of snaps and no holes.

And it looks like it is gonna be REEEAL snug. <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/unsure.gif" class="smilie" alt="" />

Any help is appreciated!
I bought mine from Cabrio World also. Yes it is very snug. Back flap does go under trunk lind and velcro hooks to the matching velcro found up under the back deck when you drop the rear seat backs. My carpet liner was loose and I had to glue it first. Took the car and cover to a local upholstery shop and they installed the snaps for $20 in about 10 minutes. They did not have the tools to do the tenax snaps, which I did myself. Line up the top. I used a hole punch. The tenax snaps screw together, to get them tight use a golf shoe spike wrench it fits perfectly. I really had to tug the back corners of the cover to get them over the tenax posts, but it fit well.

I am looking for information on all of the fasteners for the boot cover.  I know there are 3 tenax fasteners on each side of the exterior, and 2 snaps at each side of the interior.  I am not clear on what is in the trunk area - is there 1 snap each side in the trunk area?  More snaps in the trunk area?    Is there anything else in the trunk area, like velcro, hook and loop fasteners?   Are there any fasteners at the door jambs?   Thanks.

There are two snaps on each side on the plastic speaker covers. Two in the trunk one on each edge, and the three on each side that you described.

Velcro on the flap that tucks behind the seats.

Snap on loop that goes around the seat belt.

That's it!    The snap on loop that goes around the seat belt!   That's what that 'tail' is for! Thanks.

Sorry for the crappy garage photo, this is the correct way to attach the "tail" so that you don't interfere with the seatbelt swivel.

Thanks for the pic at the seat belt.

I will be installing the boot onto the car soon, however, the person who installed the last top did not install the male stud tenax fasteners on the car for the boot to attach.   As discussed here, there are supposed to be three tenax studs on each side.  I am trying to locate the original holes to place the new fasteners into.  Has anyone here been able to locate theses holes (without removing the top) and if so,  how?

Thanks Jay,

I know generally where the fasteners are located from lots of photos I've seen and my new boot cover has the areas shaded where the fasteners should go.  What I am concerned about is if I make new holes in the top/body that are immediately next to the original holes (which is covered up by the top), I will end up with a slotted holes, and loose fasteners -  bad.     I've tried poking around the fabric in the area with a thin needle without any luck.     What have others done in this situation.

I would take it to a shoe repair place and have them stitch it up and reinforce it.

I'll take a pic of mine. Went to an upholstery place and they sewed in a panel behind the original.

My boot is at an upholsterer getting reinforcements sewn in.   My task now is to locate the holes in the car body (hidden under the canvas) for the three fasteners on either side exterior.  Any suggestions?

Jay, I tried like hell to get my boot in between the seatbelt and the panel like that yesterday and no go. My swivel works fine but it keeps the seatbelt from retracting, so I have to do it manually.

Boy do I feel stupid. @94SilverCab I looked at my seatbelt again and I saw what I was doing wrong. Fixed my boot as pictured and my seatbelts work as designed. 15 YEARS I'VE MANUALLY RETRACTING IT! Lol

As embarrassing as it is, it's pales in comparison to my radiator cap debacle. Big Grin
