The plastic trim that covers the leading edge of the top (with holes for release tool) keeps coming loose. The screws that are in there look like sheet-metal screws and after driving for a week or so they tend to be loose again. I wonder if these are the correct screws and if anybody else has had this problem? This type of screw thread doesn't lend itself to a thread sealer I would think. I don't want to tighten them up too much as I worry about cracking the cover.
Any thoughts?

Take a look at the parts diagram you can download from Porsche that might give up a clue

Looks like PET has it as them as 2 x 16 tapping screws. That really doesn't help me with keeping them tight, but I guess I could replace them and see if that helps.
Thanks...

Mine have been replaced a number of times over the years.
Save those little plug covers, those buggers are expensive.

I would try filling the holes with hot glue and screwing the screws into the glue while it's hot. The glue will dampen the vibrations, but still allow the screws to be removed if it is ever necessary.

Sorry, bought a bunch 10 years ago, they were like $5 apiece back then...
