<{POST_SNAPBACK}><!--quotec-->When I had gotten my cab, I noticed that three of the Tenax fasteners on one side were ripping out of their locations. In speaking with Anchorman, he had a patch repair done on his and gave me the name of the shop in NJ which did it. I never got around to calling them because:
Fast forward a few months. I buy my 996 wood/aluminum ebrake and I need to get it recovered in black leather. I look in the local phone book and find a shop about 6-7 miles from my office. I took a chance and they did a very good job on the ebrake. So I ask if they can patch the boot and I explain what I want done. They say sure, bring it in.
Fast forward to early March. I bring the boot to them and we open it up and almost all 6 of the Tenax fasteners are coming loose. I hand it over. A week later, I go pick it up. I am extremely happy with what they did... See the attached pic! Picture is kind of dark, but basically they cut out a strip of new canvas and stiched it to the boot all the way across the fastener area. Very sturdy and looks OEM! Should last another 15 years...
Was a little on the expensive side ($100), but significantly less than a new boot!<!--QuoteEnd--><!--QuoteEEnd-->
Looking forward to seeing this in person....I bought a second boot cover as I have a few Tenax fasteners coming out on mine as well. The "spare" one purchased is in great shape, but I'd love to get the original one repaired. Kathy (happysails2You) had an upholstery shop do something similar using small triangle pieces at the corners, but this looks very nice. I actually have her car at my place right now, so perhaps I'll snap a picture. 100.00 bucks is well worth it in my opinion. Look forward to meeting you and your Speed Yellow cab, Jim.

Thought I would add to this post.
I made a 300 mile run this weekend that included a day with Darryl who got my back speakers to work (THANKS Darryl !!!).
As I was driving back yesterday at a brisk pace I noticed that my cab boot cover was flopping in the breeze. Upon inspection, I saw that 2 of the fasteners were missing .
This morning I dropped the boot cover off at "Williams" in Langhorne, PA and I searched this post out so that I can tell them how to do the repair, in case they have any doubts (they do have a very good reputation.
I'll let you know how I make out, glad this post was here.

I found Tenax Fasteners at Eagleday.com
http://www.eagleday.com/tenaxfasteners1.html
If these work they are about 1/3 the cost of buying them from Porsche. I dropped the information off at Williams this morning so they can place the order. Tomorrow I'm going to take the picture of Bio's car if they can't just plug and play the new fasteners.
Regards,
Jay

The saga continues...
So far Wiliams has been less than motivated to get this project rolling. I have stopped by every day to see if they have done anything and was told that "Greg" had toyed with it but didn't think that just replacing the fasteners would help. I told him that others (Bio) had stiched a patch and that would be a solution that I could live with...
They had not ordered the Tenax fasteners despite my handing the information to them on Tuesday morning, so I ordered them myself today:
http://www.eagleday.com/tesmheinblch.html
I called Eagle Day and they were very helpful...I ordered the installation tool also for another $2.45 (big spender)...I ordered all 6 so that the finish will match.
I'll keep you posted on my progress...I really thought this would be a no brainer repair. If they can't get it together I will probably ask Bio for his contact and take it to NJ. Little do these guys know that this was a test for my interior renovation.
