3M Carbon Fiber Vinyl Wrap on dash trim
#41

I'll pass on the debate over the aesthetics of carbon fiber being used as trim material, as it's your car, so if you like it, that's all that counts. I do agree that the workmanship looks great.

But as far as a functional application for carbon fiber, has anybody heard whether a CF-reinforced timing/balance shaft belt is any closer to reality? I believe Rennbay used to make one for the 944, but that it's no longer available.

i think the kevlar timing belt is still out there (it wasn't carbon). last i heard there was no progress on the balance belt though.

Anything looks better than the cheap hard black plastic that is on there now. At least the CF has some character in its texture. My $.02 worth.
