Wheel Sizing fitment

Front 8x18 ET 52 with 225/40x18



Rear 11x18 ET 40 with 295/30x18



Will these fit without any issues? I run a standard setup. These would be rather wide and slow down the car considerably, but I don't think they would ever lose grip <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/tongue.gif" class="smilie" alt="" /> They are actually the 996 Turbo Twist II's so if anyone has fit those on their cars without any problems let me know <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/smile.gif" class="smilie" alt="" />

Unfortunately they won't work. The fronts would be perfect, even with a 235 sized tire, but the rears are for a wide body, and so will stick out about an inch too far.

I just checked on a set of 16's I was going to buy with a 40 offset for the rear. The guy said slim chance that it would not scrape fender wheel well.

anyone know what the maximum size offset that can be used on rears? 50?

too many variables - wheel width, tire brand and size, ride height, camber angle, and spring rate all play into that

Subject to the additional, important, details, I'd say that if you're looking at 18" wheels, you want to stay with a rear offset of at least 52 or so. I had 47 offset wheels at one time and had fender interference problems. Again, though, the other variables do enter the equation - but the higher the number (within reason), the more likely the wheels will fit, irrespective of the other factors.

Consensus seems to be the rears will not fit. If they were 10" wide with an ET of 65 (which is a difference of an inch) you would be in the ball park. 11" rears are a tight squeeze.

find out the offset on 968 turbo S wheels I think they were 18x11 in the rear. I know my brother has 18x11 speedline wheels on the back of his 968.

the turbo had:



18x10 rear, with a dunlop SP sport 8000 265/35

18x8 front, with a dunlop SP sport 8000 235/40



no idea what the offsets were though

I think the offsets for the rear were 61, i have 10x 18 carrera's offset 65mm and use 22mm spacers so that equates to 43mm offset, tyres are bridgstone SO2's, fill arches very nice could go a bit more, plus i'm running about 2.5d camber. regards chris.

My Carrera III rear wheels are 10" wide and 58 offset. Tires are 265/35. I'm pleased with the "fill" of the wheel opening. Previously I'd had 47 offset with 275 tires and those had interference issues.



Chris, I guess it's only because of the camber you're running that you're OK with the equivalent of 43 offset.

I was looking at new weels and they are 8.5 , 48 offset front and 9.5, 50 offset rear

would this be a good combo?

The rear would be perfect with a 275 tire if you run ~1.5 deg neg camb even if you are lowered. It's the same I'm running.



The front would be close but you should be ok. I wouldn't go thinner than a 235 on that 8.5 rim. If you have a stock ride height, you would probably be ok. If you are lowered, you would prob. have to run 1.2 deg neg camb or more.

Thanks I was worried more about the front. Where would itbe close the fender or struts, I have new stuff

up front so I don't think that would be a problem.
