Wheel Question
#1

Has anyone out there ever tried Cayenne wheels on their 968? With all the interest in running a "square" setup, and all the Cayenne/Touareg wheels out there in desirable sizes with what appear to be the proper offsets, I would think that it would be a no-brainer. Are they too heavy, or is there some other issue that makes them inappropriate for this use? I think some of the spoke patterns are attractive, and with some 40 series tires they would look good on a 968.

With some new center caps, I think these 8x18's would look good.

I suppose those should fit. However, and this is just a guess, I would think wheels intended for an large SUV like a Cayenne/Touareg would be pretty darn heavy, and getting info on wheel weights is not easy.

My former 18 inch wheels (the ones you see in the avatar) would have fitted a Cayenne too. Not sure about the weight though.

I tried these out before I had sold the car... They were originally off a Cayenne...

Do you recall the sizes and the offsets? They look like they fit well.

I don't recall, but I'll dig around and see what I find. It created a "square" set-up on the car, and I thought the wheels looked great, but I think the new owner ended going back to a staggered set-up.

I think they look good, and the color is great too, but I think the doors would look better if they opened up rather than out. Just my opinion.

I sold that cab to a member on the forums (user: lbpesq) a few years ago. The one I have now (the white car I bought from Ryker) has the lambo doors. It's the one thing I personally don't like about the car, but it looks cool I guess. What's nice at least is that I don't have to actually lift them up to get in/out of the car - they open out normally half way, enough for me to slip in (like you would in a crowded parking lot.

But wouldn't these white ones look good on that Lambo-doored 968 of yours? I can't decide what I am going to do with them.
