What should timing be at idle??
#1

We are using a durametric scan tool which can display what the degree of timing is while idling. Anyone know what this degree should be?

Thanks

The Bosch Hammer reads 10.5 degrees when engine warmed up and at 850rpm

Gents: What are the differences (advantages/disadvantages) between the Bosch Hammer and the Durametric scan tools?

The Bosch Hammer has alot more active features. You can read temperatures, throttle openings, input signals while running.
We used hammer while 300HP motor was on dyno to check all readings to DME.

We have used the durametric scan tool for mainly resettting airbag lights on 951's and 968's. It can display some realtime data but not sure how it compares to the hammer.

I believe the entry level durametric scan tool is about $350.00.
