Yup. That's a major reason I've never messed with mine. I'm sure I'll have to one of these days, though...

lol - conversely, since i'm just plain nuts, it's a reason i've been messing with them for years now, but never committed to completion of the project.

As many of us have previously reported, what a great feeling it is to receive a compliment on our 968's. On my way to work this morning a guy in a truck pulls up next to me at a lite. As he is hanging out of his window drooling, he asks me the year of my car. When I reply his eyebrows go up in amazement and he say, " what a great looking car." I thank him and pull away once more with a nice feeling! That's after yesterday when the replacement mirror arrives without the button piece which is glued to the window. Seems its a separate piece. My ineptness seems to know no bounds. At least I have a great looking car that gets compliments. Ever drive a car without a rear view mirror?!

I should read more carefully before I post. Without the button piece is what I meant to type.

Yes a torch what a great idea! This for a guy that can't remember to put the blades down before opening the hood. Torch huh? Wonder how many things I could destroy or burn down. Perhaps it could replace water boarding ! Lol

Rap, you get alot of compliments with the 968 on a daily basis! I got one today when I decided to take the 968 to the job site today and pulled in the apartment complex where my company is doing renovations. I did not need the work vehicle today and decided to take the quicker non commercial route with the 968. I pulled into the complex and the owner was there today (Rare). He came over as I got out of my car and told me what a nice car. He said he owned two 911's in the past and drives an RS4. He said I have a nice 944, I then resorted to pointing out the differences between the 944 and the 968...yada yada

White your right about having to correct the 944 misread. This is even with Porsche lovers. It's fun watching them respond!

Back in the day it was fashionable to exchange flash-to-pass with fellow Porsches traveling in the opposite direction. Now at least once a day I see another Porsche and I flash my lights at them. Almost none of them even know I'm in a Porsche, and none of them flash back. The look of confusion is kind of priceless. I'm ashamed to say it's getting to be fun.

They're probably thinking you're warning them about a cop car with radar on ..but again if they're clueless even that signal might not cros their mind , and thus the confused looks , lol..

tama, I do the flash-to-pass all the time Ditto. On the same road as the apartment complex I mention warehouses alot of celeb cars such as Ralph Lauren and others. Today I was in the work van and a 911GTRS pass by me, Wish I was driving the 968 he would have flashed back!

Had my brakes refurbished two years ago (stock) and I'm not satisfied. My brakes never felt right on this car.(like my bra!) I use my 968 for a street car only, no tracking. I am a General Contractor and know all about fixing up the home but I am a complete novice when it comes to the mechanics of the 968 which is why I joined this site. Some might say if you see me under a 968 call an ambulance I got run over!

I know where you're coming from thinking that. The thing to remember is that the harder you press that pedal it just seems to bite more and more and not lock up. Some cars you just tip the brakes and they nearly put you thru the windscreen and you think wow great brakes! But their not really, no adjustability. Just step on the standard brakes a little bit harder, it might be all it takes.

Someone flashed me as they went past and I stuck my head out the window and shouted at them " stop looking at me bra ye perv!". It had to be said.
