I have seen mention of just stripping the two wires and wrapping them together. Is this stripping them as so the two electrical wires complete a circuit? This is what keeps the warning light off? As I have no use for them as I seem to break them removing them and even installing them at times.

That will work. I did the same. On occasion the pad light will come on. I plan to solder my wires together one of these days.
