Warning Light / low oil level
#1

The (!) warning light and "engine oil" light remain illuminated after I start my car. Checked the oil level: a hair over full when cold. Re-starts - oil press ga reads just under 5 bar. Re-start - same thing Lights won't go off yet oil level shows A-Ok and oil pressure reads perfect. I carefully drive the car for 5 mins - same thing. No "tappet" noises at all and oil press readings are normal. Checked the oil level again - full when hot. parked the car for 4 days - checked again - same symptoms. Whazzup ? I am afraid to drive the car now lest I do some serious damage: better safe then sorry ... any suggestions?

The sender may have failed and, if it does, the light stays on. Happened to me. I replaced the sender and now the light comes on only when I am down about 1/3 litre.

Pete set me right. The wire for the plug to the oil level sender had come off & I now need a new plug / connector. Where can I find a replacement? I've tried a few places but no luck so far.
