I have a quick trip to Germany next week and shifted my flights to make time for the Porsche Museum on Saturday. I'm rather excited, as I never really thought it would be something I'd get to. Pitty I have to drive the 60miles in a Fiat 1.4. Damn these rental companies for not having a spare 911 for 40EUR a day.
Suddenly the Nurburg Taxi might become a reality on subsequent trips. <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/smile.gif" class="smilie" alt="" />

Porsche museum done and dusted! Awesome experience. I even managed to find the 1:43 scale model of a red 968 cab. That was worth the trip alone. I ended up renting a 1.2L Turbo VW Polo-cross. What a little rocket. Besides the trip from Heidelberg to Stuttgart and back, every morning I had a 5 minute dash at 190km/h on the autobahn to the office. What a way to start the day.
Seeing the history of the Porsche and so many various cars in one place you can see the evolution and get to appreciate the effort and the passion they put into these cars. Took loads of pictures of the cars and the building...
The trip to the museum was a bit more expensive than the 8Eur. After I left, I was feeling so pumped, I called my garage who are busy with a radiator and belt job and told them to refresh the engine and head too. I want this 968 to be around a lot longer and be at its best.

The entrance fee is 8EUR and the audio guide is well worth the 2EUR. There is a lot of extra info given in the audio guide. I took about 4 hours to do museum with the guide, followed by a 'Boxter' burger in the canteen.
