Another Porsche 968 build
#1

Hi all 968 enthusiasts! <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/biggrin.gif" class="smilie" alt="" />

Since it is snowing here in Europe, I decided to build the Hasegawa kit I purchased last year on eBay. I just started to collect all the information and did some research on the internet. There is not much info on this forum.

As a starter, there is nice French build thread: http://www.forum-auto.com/automobile-pra...et8349.htm . As always you can use google to translate it to make it partially understandable.

Something on that level is my ultimate goal.

What I would like to change:

I will try to fix that bonnet issue with a bit of putty.

One mistake he did is that he somehow did not use the rear wing.

Side sill have a wrong shape (more putty and sanding)

Will try to make a front splitter.

My local hobby shop sells 18" BBS LM-like wheels which would look better the the original 16" (I even seen 18" Fikse wheels on the internet).

Currently I'm trying to create a shopping list. What I miss is some photo-etched kit with nice brake discs like the french guy used. Also I need to buy some scale wires, seat belts etc...

Porsche colors:

sasilverbullet was looking for some original Porsche shades for his model. (http://www.968forums.com/topic/641-how-t...r-a-model/)

I hope it's not an advertisement since it is not for the actual real sized cars. At this place http://www.hiroboy.com/catalog/product_i...3a55455a11 you can buy them all. If it's not on a list, you can send them your paint code and they will mix it for you.

Now I have to decide If my model is going to be black, like my real car or if I'm going to airbrush the model in Riviera blue, my dream 968 turbo S.

Lets see how it goes!

Please post some pictures of your finished Hasegawa models in to this thread. It might be useful for other beginners <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/rolleyes.gif" class="smilie" alt="" /> .

I have a different version of this kit, molded in speed yellow that I have yet to build. I just resurrected a 1/12 Scale Porsche 910 that I built 30 years ago and I also have an unbuilt kit. For those of you who like to build large scale race cars Tamiya has reissued their 1/12 scale Porsche 910 and Lola T-70 MkII Coupe. Both are fun to build and when done well are stunning models.

I have one of these kits, still in the original box and shrink wrap. Question is, do I build it, or keep it untouched?

Neither - send it to me and you no longer have to concern yourself with the decision! <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/biggrin.gif" class="smilie" alt="" />

Flash: If you do not mind aftermarket there is plenty to choose from.

I'm considering these:

some rubber for these http://www.car-model-kit.cz/30-kola-disk...sign/?pg=2

In case that I use any of the aftermarket ones my standard ones would be free and I can send them to you but the are just 16".

pinball1008: I will buy it. It would solve my color selection problem. I can have black and blue car than! <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/rolleyes.gif" class="smilie" alt="" />

JH6 - i can't figure out how much any of those wheels are, but if they are reasonable, i'd be happy to pay you that amount and have you send me your "OEM" wheels and tires - 16s are fine for what i want
