An exotic-looking car for sure, but I'm just not a big fan of hybrids, especially in sports/GT cars - too much extra weight, complexity, and cost. This car just strikes me as an awful lot of mechanical fuss to propel a vehicle down the road. Give me the simple, direct approach any day of the week.

I agree, given the choice I'd go without all the hybrid bits. Given that with the hybrid stuff in there they claim the car is ~3000 lbs, it'd be crazy without all that weight.

Regardless that's one of the best looking cars I've seen in quite a while. If this is a little foreshadowing of the designs to come it could be good.

A nice video of a stunning car, and a technological tour-de-force. I have to wonder, however, how much of this car's technology will ever trickle down to cars in a price range accessible to mere mortals. Definitely the stuff dreams are made of, though.

Do you have any collateral? And no your 968 doesn't count. Nor your wife! Lol

I don't understand, 968 is MORE than 918...you'd be getting a bargain <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/smile.png" class="smilie" alt="" />

This video is surreal ; to watch this kind of acceleration is simply awe-inspiring and jaw dropping . Guess the old adage is true, no matter how fast your car is, there is always another one faster . Even when you have a stratospheric performance supper car :

And now comes Koenigsegg's Regera , tne company's new hybrid model,to be unveiled at the upcoming Geneva auto show.

A mild mannered 1,350 HP, 440 km/hr top speed and a tested 0-300 km/hr time under 15 sec. Oh, it's a " regular " street car, so any little old lady from Padadena can buy it..if it was federalized, that is. Until then, any little old lady from any place in the ROW can buy it :-). Maybe this will bring down the price on the sluggish 918 ?

There is a new Porsche dealer in Langley and they have a 918 in the showroom. It has been sold to a local buyer but it will be on the showroom floor for another 6 weeks. I found out about it because my 17 year old daughter came home from school and told me that the boys from her school had been visiting the dealer to see the 918. VERY smart marketing on behalf of the dealer and Porsche. The amount of  attention the car is garnering, and the brand recognition it is causing on the younger crowd, will pay back in spades with time. All those youngsters will be dreaming of owning a Porsche someday...
