squeaking coming from the back when I reach 60 miles an hour
#1

Hi

I've noticed a squeaking coming from the back of my car when I reach about 60 miles an hour. It sounds like the sound an old matress would do if you jumped up and down on it (the same kind of squeak). It's not very loud and not very annoying but I was just wondering if you guys have a clue what it could be. Thanks.

it's not associated with anything, it just starts squeaking when I go over 50 or 60 miles an hour. it's a coupe. and the back seats are on their normal position, they're up.

The rear spoiler may be coming loose.

The hatch pins may need a dab of grease or readjusted.

This would be my guess as well. I had a small squeak coming from the back awhile ago, so I applied some lithium grease to the hatch pins, and the squeak went away. Good luck.

sound bounces around a lot - the glass in the rear acts like an amplifier - hard to nail it down without trying a few things

the seats are known to squeak - to test this, change their position or jam a towel in the gap between the seat and the floor, forcing the seat upward and making contact on the hinges

hatches are certainly common culprits too though

It may not be the squeak.

Hatch rubber seal may also be worn.
