Tiptronic stalling??
#1

This has happened 3 times in one week and this morning while I was driving the car. When I start the car up and go to put it on drive, it stalls as soon at the stick is put on D (the tiptronic light comes on). But it is intermittent. When it does this, I can manage to drive it by shifting to the semi automatic mode but it only seems to work with one gear.

This morning the car stalled while I was driving it and the tiptronic light came on. This is a real pain. Does anyone know what is causing this?? Thank you so much, I need some answers since I am leaving for Europe tomorrow.

it sounds like you are in "limp mode" - unfortunately further diagnostics will have to be done, and it is not something i have played with

Check your battery and alternator output.

While it is still running, drive it to RS Barn in Newtown and let them fix it...

Definitely limp mode - it's going into 4th. Almost certainly an electrical issue that's shutting down the tiptronic control unit.

when it gets sorted out, please let us know - we don't have a lot of info here on tips, and anything you find out will be a welcome addition
