Tiptronic specs
#1

I have bought a 94' Dark Blue 968 with Tiptronic, not my first choice but was great deal from someone I know (3rd car purchase). It has 80K miles and all regular maintainance has been done, with records.

I plan on getting the RS exhaust manifold/cat back/chip and doing the air box mod.

So can Tiptronic handle it? And if so how much more? Any info / help / recommendations will help.

The Tip can handle a 928's V8 and turbos so I would think it can handle the RSbarm mods. They don't add that much HP.

Its the same tranny as the 928? Wow, didnt know that. Agreed about the HP from the RS parts, trying to get 275-300 out of this and didnt want to go down that road only to find I needed to address the Tiptronic as well.

Thanks for the info!

My mechanic told me that my Tip. is made by Mercedise Benz and used in their 400 HP hot rod.

I'm not sure if they use this exact trans in the 968 but I can easily handle the 300/400 HP it puts out.

So, if I keep the "in my dreams" turbo dialed to 398HP I'll be fine. Awsome!
