Hello folks,
Just wondering (alright complaining also) if anyone has run across a problem with the Tiptronic shifting maps. Essentially always I have to go to manual mode on the tip when going uphill. I think today it shifted into 4th gear at about 30 mph at or approx. 1.5K RPM and of course this made the engine lug. It seems I am often going up hill, behind a slower vehicle and have to manually downshift it. So it finally occurred to me that the P-Car engineering isn't that silly to make the car lug in certain circumstances, and provide a Tip that only performs well on level or downhill. There must be some sensor feeding the ECU to prevent this problem, perhaps a vacuum sensor. The ECU must be able to correlate the accelerator to the RPMs, but also should be able to correlate to vacuum or some other sensor associated with lugging. Any ideas where I might check? Thanks all!
