These will fit, no problem...
#1

I just came back from a shake down drive after mounting a set of 18" Turbo Twist wheels. Front: 7.5Jx18 ET 50 pt# 993.362.134.06/ Rear: 9Jx18 ET 52 pt# 993.362.138.01. Tires are P Zero Rosso, 225/40/18 and 265/35/18, I think these were options on the 2000/2001 Boxster S??. No front hub problems, no front turning issues, no rubbing. I could add 5mm spacers on the back just for aesthetic reasons, but not necessary. Hope this helps all the folks out there looking to upgrade your wheels.

Love those wheels. They look perfect on our cars.

"Backwards" is a state of mind. If it's good enough for a Turbo it's good enough for me. Maybe I'll just drive in reverse half the time.

I also love them, I also have them. I was once torn between the sacrifice of power by adding 18s vs sacrifice of looks sticking with 17s. Both are important to me. I've decided the looks are worth the sacrifice in power, as its not that much.

Flash - I agree about the right side wheels going 'backwards' - does bug me a little. Never could understand why Porsche didn't make lefts and rights of the turbo twists.

yeah - i can't figure out why they made that wheel so darned heavy either (though i hear there is a hollow version) - not sure what they were thinking there

i know a lot of guys really like them though, and they are pretty popular in the 944 crowd

I never really considered the power/weigh downside of these wheels. Since I have a Tiptronic Cab (the slowest combo of the 968 breed) and wasn't gong racing anytime soon, I went with what I liked.

which is absolutely appropriate, regardless of anything else - none of these cars is going to break any speed records, no matter what wheel you have - might as well like what you have on there

Flash, my car has the Hollow Spokes. They are not really light, but lighter then any other 18" wheel i was interested in (RUF wheels, BBS LM wheels, etc).

Fox944,

What are the part numbers for your hollow spokes? Are they the narrow body 993 or the wide body "Turbo" 993 wheels?

manopeace,

I also have a cabrio tip. What like/dislike about the ride quality. I hussle the car around the street, but it is a road trip car for my wife and I. I am interested in others opinions of 18" wheels on a cab.

Thanks,

Mitch

Oppositelock:

1. I noticed the difference right away on the take off, the added weight was obvious but once you get it going and get used to it , it no longer was a factor.

2. Steering response and tracking was much improved over the stock 16s.

3. I dont think the harshness was excessive, but I did not go on a long drive, mostly hard starts/stops and fast turns.

4. I did notice the car following grooves in the pavement but that is normal I think for wide (265s in back) tires.

FYI I have a bone stock suspension. If you use manual mode and keep it around 4K on the tac it's still fun to drive.
