There is a third sensor up the top by the fuel rail level with the variocam solenoid, this is the oil temp sensor for the ECU, for switching the vario and the emissions vapour burn valve
Interesting. So there are 3 places where coolant temp is taken?
1. in the radiator tempswitch which run to a relay in the fuse box which then powers on the engine/radiator fan.
2. The blue AMP plug on crankcase which goes to the ECU.
3. the spade on the crankcase which goes to the instrument panel.
