Everything was fine but now I have no tach. No little bounce when I turn the key on. No RPM while running. I guess it could be the tach itself but can anyone refresh my memory on where the tach gets it's signal? I thought it was directly from the DME relay. Mine is new and I've already swapped it with another working tach car just for grins. My instrument cluster is coming out for a busted odometer gear but I'm all too familiar with that process. I miss my tach though......

The tach signal comes from the ecu, via the crank sensor
Nothing to do with the DME relay
Either plug fell out the back or dirty connection or possibly the tach is broke

Thanks! Wouldn't a loose or broken crank sensor result in a no start?

Yep it would, so the fault is after the ecu and before the tachometer

I don't think the dash has ever been in and out of this car. It's a one owner, 70K mile garage queen and only ever serviced at the dealer. I am thinking a loose connection since the odometer stopped and the tach stopped relatively at the same period of time. I have 2 other odometer gears to do on other cars, so mine will have to wait but I think I will get my hand back there and check those connectors! Thanks!
