Sparky,

The one I'm referring to sits on the dash, and plugs into the cigarette lighter. I saw one at Batteries Plus for somewhere around $30, but have also seen them at Harbor Freight Tools for around $10. Would probably be just the thing to give that little battery a little extra oomph.

thanks pete - hadn't seen the kit in a while now - done it in other cars too, but not with this much current drain from the engine

still trying to choose a battery - the optima seems to have a lot less cca per cu inch - the interstate i have now has tons - to get that high, i need a 75lb optima

what models of optima are people using out there on stock cars?

I have both a Yellow Top and Red Top in my vehicles. Also Kragen sells their version which actually rated better than Optimas in a couple of magazine ,"shoot outs". They call it Orbital. Their website has more details.
