Most space saving spares have a valve cap that has a "fork" shape at the end. You use that fork to unscrew and remove the valve assembly inside the stem. This will open up the stem to freely vent air and collapse the tire. If the valve cap doesn't have that fork, then you can find it at any autoparts store.

I can't see mine clearly, because I have a piece of plywood bolted to it to hold the amplifier!

With the valve stem open, try massaging the sidewall to help collapse it into its original position.

i think this spare has been inflated for too long I got the car with it fully inflated and sitting in the trunk, it really does not want to go back to its original state, it was easier today after being deflated for a while, a little more manhandling and i might be able to get it back to normal

I've only used my spare once, and it had air in it for about two hours. It was surprisingly easy to get it collapsed - so I think you've identified the reason for your challenge.

Perhaps some some baby oil and soothing music along with the massage! Happy ending extra!

Mech, I'd suggest running a ratcheting tie-down around the outside and drawing the tire back into shape over a period of days.

Mech,

To help let it set out in the sun for a while also, it will help make it more pliable.

Depending on your size you could use your belt instead of a tie down......unless you use a tie down for your belt like I do

Suck the air out....don't laugh. We do that with river rafts. Gets them real flat for rolling up.

i was going to suggest the same thing - using one of those "inflatable bed" pumps in reverse

otherwise, get a 3 dollar ratcheting strap from kragen, unscrew the valve and crank her down
